About the Author

J. Robert Brown, Jr. is a professor of law at the University of Denver College Of Law and has been teaching in the corporate securities area for more than 15 years. Before joining academia, Professor Brown clerked for a federal judge, worked at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in Washington, DC and in the Office of the General Counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Law for four years and as an advisor to foreign governments on securities and corporate law reform. Professor Brown serves as an arbitrator for the NASD and serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.
